I make functional objects and furniture with solid wood construction and traditional joinery. Disappointed with the disposability of products in our every day life, I started making furniture while studying environmental science at the Colorado College. As my interest in the work intensified, I discovered opportunities to explore methods of construction that are steeped in the history and charm of the craft and the material. If used properly, I have found that these techniques can be employed to create objects that will endure the passage of time and trends. The tradition and integrity of making fine wooden objects provide me with a constant source of inspiration as I explore designs and forms that are personal to my own experience. I endeavor in my work to understand and create what is simple, beautiful, and true.
